Fall Sewing

I apologize in advance for this post....  This will not be of any interest to people who don't sew, but it's what I have been doing a lot of lately so I thought I would share.  I have been busy sewing/smocking/appliqueing to get this boy a fall/winter wardrobe.  This is some of what I have done so far...

 Some applique shirts and turtle necks (Lawnmower, Chunky Letter, Circle Patch, Helicopter)

Pants!  The green, red, and navy are corduroy and the others are Fabric Finders navy gingham

I smocked this bubble which he has worn the past two months.  Pattern is Maja Heirlooms "Cory's Bubble." Everyone that sews should own this pattern.  It is so easy and works for a girl or a boy (only difference is the sleeves.)

 Patriotic jon jon for Election Day.  Fabric Finders plaid and pattern is Children's Corner Johnny.

We had our pictures made a few weeks ago and I made this outfit for the occasion.  Brown micro gingham..again Fabric Finders. and the pattern is Creations by Michie' "Knicker Yoke Overlay."

                                                                          

Wow can it really be time to start sewing for Christmas?   Here are some Christmas pajamas that I monogrammed.  Pajamas are from Blanks Boutique.

Christmas Bubble

So far I have managed to smock outfits for all of my friends babies, well at least their first born.  Now I have friends on their second and third and I can't keep up!  I absolutely love working on the outfits.  As I am making it I often think about what they will be like, what they will look like, and I spend time praying for them as well.  It is time consuming, but I get so much pleasure seeing them in an outfit that I made.

In October, my best friend Kiley had a little girl (Anna Kathryn).  Kiley decided to be difficult and not find out what she was having so it made it somewhat difficult to pick a pattern and a plate that was gender neutral.  I decided on Maja's Heirlooms Cory's Bubble pattern mainly because the only difference for a boy and girl are the sleeves.  Then I chose the Cross Eyed Cricket Fleur De Lis plate because Kiley collects Fleur De Lis and I thought it would be fun to smock it in Christmas colors. 



Projects

I am a great project starter but a horrible project finisher. A month or so ago and I found myself in the middle of about 10 projects, and I just couldn't take it anymore. So I decided that I wasn't going to let my self start anything new until I finished all of my current projects. It was difficult, but I managed to stick to my plan and these are some of the results:

I made throw pillows for my sofa.

I made myself a skirt.

Kiley asked for one so I made her one as well.

Smocked a dress for Lia Kate.

Finished several (calligraphy) baby gifts (sorry no pictures).

And this is my final one! One more flip flop to go then I will be done!!!

Not quite sure what I will do next, but I will keep you posted!

Dress for Isabella

As Nick often reminds me...I have way to many hobbies. Between smocking, calligraphy, upholstery, couponing, not to mention a full time job I sometimes (oftentimes) get in over my head. However I had to smock something for Isabella (Whitney's baby that is due in early April).

This is the dress that I smocked for her and gave to Whitney at the shower.

For all of you fellow smockers...I used the Chery Williams "Baby Bishop" Pattern and the Creative Keepsakes "Cynthia" plate.

I cannot wait to see her in it!

I had the pleasure of making this little outfit for Britton Giffen. It was supposed to be a baby gift, but I am about a year and a half late. Not sure what the rule is about baby gifts, but I am sure that my time limit expired a long time ago!
