An Evening with Chette Williams

Nick and I were invited to attend the annual banquet which raises support for Chette Williams (director of FCA and team chaplain) and the FCA program at Auburn. It was wonderful to spend time with Uncle Ed and Aunt Lee and to hear how God is at work within the athletic program at Auburn.

An evening filled with talk of ministry and Auburn football...doesn't get much better than that!

A football player sat at each table which was lots of fun. D'Antoine Hood was at our table. He is a sophomore from Columbus, GA.

Like, Love and Don't Like

It's time for this week's installment of LIKE, LOVE and DON'T LIKE, where I touch on the various interests and discomforts that have recently crossed my path.

This week, I like Salsa Verde. Actually, I am trying to find the secret recipe for Moe's version of salsa verde. As of this post, the secret remains safe. However, Julie bought me some salsa verde from the grocery store and I have liked eating it. I hope to try more brands.

This week, I love watching Heros with my wife. In an attempt of satisfy our hankering for new episodes of LOST, Julie and I have started watching the first season of Heros. I love this time because I get some quality couch time with Juliette, not necessarily because of the show. Julie is always so sweet to me and she doesn't mind if I drizzle chocolate ice cream down the front of my shirt.

This week, I don't like the way home-ownership is starting to take shape. Julie has already documented our recent air conditioning fiasco. I'm planning on trying to correct our dishwasher draining problem (again) this weekend and Julie has pointed out a mysterious stain on one of our ceilings. I don't like the way the problems seem to come one right after the other. And I don't like being told that it will always be this way.

Calligraphy

Last Fall I took a series of beginner and advanced calligraphy classes. I was able to do a little bit for my own wedding (wedding book names, programs, and a few last minute envelopes), but for the most part I was too busy to do most of the work. Now that life is back to normal I have had more time to practice and work on some samples.

Below are the front and back of post cards I am having printed in order to get the word out. If you happen to know anyone needing calligraphy services please send them my way. I think you will find that for this particular style (copperplate) my prices are very reasonable.

One Year Ago Today...

Nick proposed! As I think back over the past year there are so many wonderful memories. I could not have asked for a better engagement, wedding, honeymoon, and husband.

Here are a few pictures from the night we got engaged.

The happy couple!

Calling Mom and Dad to tell them the news.
